With its prime location in the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor and proximity to the large cities of Austin and San Antonio, Kyle attracts a diverse range of businesses, including high tech manufacturing, ranging from automotive and semiconductor to medical equipment and supplies, professional and business services, distribution, and destination recreation.

Due to the influx of new business, Kyle has experienced a continuous annual growth rate of 11.46%. Kyle ED continues to work to create a successful community for residents and businesses through infrastructure improvements, such as water, wastewater, and roads. We also partner with local education institutions, Hays CISD and Austin Community College Hays, to train our future workforce.

Target Industries

Advanced Manufacturing

Automotive Manufacturing

Tesla’s new Gigafactory Texas has increased local demand for automotive parts manufacturing. Kyle is located a mere 30 miles from this U.S. manufacturing hub for Model Y and the future home of the Cybertruck. It is easily accessible from I-35, allowing for the easy distribution of goods. Our local school district, Hays CISD, offers specialized CTE programs, including a state-of-the-art Automotive Technology Center which provides skilled workers for the region.

Semiconductor Manufacturing

Austin has recently experienced tremendous growth in the semiconductor industry. Kyle, as part of the thriving Texas Innovation Corridor, has also become a desirable manufacturing location. In 2019, South Koren-based ENF Technologies broke ground in Kyle on their new, $45 million U.S. headquarters. The 100,000 square-foot facility makes electronics for Samsung Austin Semiconductor, GlobalFoundries, Micron, Texas Instruments, and Intel.

Medical Equipment & Supply Manufacturing

Since the groundbreaking of Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in 2007, Kyle continues to grow as a medical hub for the South Austin region. The hospital is a catalyst for medical development in Kyle, and brought with it almost 2 million additional square feet of newly constructed medical facilities and over 2,000 direct medical jobs, not counting physicians or specialists.

St. David’s HealthCare is also acquiring land in Kyle where it will build a full-service, acute care hospital that will include 34 beds, with room for expansion as the community continues to grow. This project will result in an investment of approximately $185 million in the Kyle community.

This boom in Kyle’s medical industry creates a high demand for medical equipment and supply manufacturing.

Professional & Business Services

Kyle holds the advantage of having the educated and trained workforce pipeline necessary to fulfill the employment needs of professional and business companies. Many of these employees have been commuting to Austin for work. With the establishment of additional companies in Kyle, we create additional jobs, allowing our residents to remain in Kyle, granting them more time and money through shorter commutes and less traffic.

Distribution & Logistics

With its strategic location along the I-35 corridor, Kyle is the perfect place for distribution. The city provides easy access to major interstates that transverse across Texas and the United States, along with Mexico and Canada. Large Fortune 500 companies such as Amazon, Lowe’s, and FedEx have recently located in the Kyle Crossing Business Park.

ENF’s decision to locate in Kyle highlights their ability to attract technology focused foreign direct investment to the Texas Innovation Corridor.
